Dr. Gathercole is trained to assess gait (the manner in which a person walks or runs) and diagnose foot and lower extremity conditions. Gait problems can obviously cause pain in the feet and ankles but can also contribute to shin, knee, hip, pelvic, and lower back pain. Often addressing a patient’s spinal pain includes determining if their gait needs correcting with custom orthotic insoles. At Gathercole Chiropractic & Massage a visual and computer gaitscan is performed along with a 3D volumetric foam impression from which a custom orthotic can be produced. These orthotics are covered by most insurance plans.
